Account Funding Please note that, due to industry regulations, only checks made payable to Penson Financial Services, Inc. will be accepted. Also, due to the new Patriots Act Law resulting from Sept 11, 2001, all funds deposited into a new account must be drawn from an account with an identical account title. For example, if you open a corporate account, the funds deposited into the account must come from an account with the same corporations name as the account holder. Funds will be available to trade in 1-10 business days depending on the amount of the check. Bank Wires are considered cleared funds and allow the client to begin trading their account immediately. Chase Bank Checks in the form of: Checks drawn by account owner, Brokerage checks made payable to the customer or Penson Financial Services signed by the customer, Bank checks drawn from customer's account made payable to Penson Financial Services , IRS/Government checks payable to the customer, Dividend checks payable to the customer and Bond Interest checks made payable to the customer; these are all acceptable means of funding by check. Regulations require all check be made payable to Penson Financial Services except as noted above. Transferring Money or Securities from an investment or brokerage account at another firm are considered cleared funds. The client must submit an account transfer form available through eSignup or Print Forms on the Open Account web page. The transfer of these funds or securities can take from 7-14 business days depending on the releasing broker's guidelines. The client may begin trading when the transfer is completed. Stock Certificates, properly executed, are considered cleared funds and allow the client to begin trading their account once the certificates have been registered with the transfer agent.
